tomtom running on HTC Touch HD
Before buying the Touch HD, the big deal breaker was if it could run tomtom on it, searching for it resulted in no one having any videos with it running so i can be reassured.. this video is for people that want to buy the Touch HD and need to know how tomtom runs.

Well it depends on the program.
TomTom or the other GPS software use the inbuilt receiver so it’s free.
Google Maps use the Internet to get the maps.

Use the program Gyrator.
I have the delay aswell, only above 50km/h but it’s still good.

How do you get the Tomtom 7 to automatically turn into landscape mode? How do you make the Tomtom 7 run so smooth? (Mine has a 3 secound lag?) Thanks

the software is only available from the net. There is even a link on XDA developer.
TomTom Home 2.5 picked it up then you buy the maps from there, they work fine.

By the way. Do you use any cracked version from internet or an original copy you bought from retailer?

Hi,
Thanks for quick answer.

it is version 7.910 and it isn’t stretched. It actually uses up the whole screen and looks beautiful.

Which version of TomTom is used here? VGA or QVGA? Anyway… VGA is 640×480 and touch HD resolution is 800×480. Why the picture looks not stretched?

What TomTom version is this? 7.0?

Has to be done via programs like Gyrator.
I believe TomTom version 6.000 done it automatically, but anything higher must use gyrator or something similar.

thanks for your reply, 1 more question (still havent got my HD, the company I ordered from is very very slow). I see you change to landscape mode, is it able to do so by default or did you have to install something like gyrator?

look at pda forums like xda-developers, they can easily lead you to the right direction.

I tried IGo and hated it, alot of people like it but nothing beat the easy and quick interface of the tomtom. Check out the Garmin aswell, you might prefer that over the others.
Garmin for me wasn’t good compared to the TomTom just due to the fact that if you wanted to do something, it would take 2 steps more than you would in TomTom.
